As three billion people use Facebook, there’s no wonder this rebrand sparked widespread discussion.
It also sparked the concept for ACE Open’s current exhibition, Metaverse, running from 9 April ’til 14 May.
Artists such as Roy Ananda and Giselle Stanborough, alongside others, explore how humanity and our sense of self has been influenced by the rise of the internet.
Metaverse also showcases possibilities of dystopic futures, questions the boundaries of surveillance, and highlights our inseparable relationship with technology.
